Local Digital Marketing Techniques to Boost Your Business In 2020

I’m writing the article while being quarantined from Covid1-19. I have been racking my brain to find ways to use my knowledge and expertise to help during this time. I am a highly-skilled digital marketer with over 16 years of experience in assisting companies with lead generation and online sales. If Covid-19 has taught us anything if you are not currently marketing online, then you should be.

Now that you know a little bit about me. Let me go over local marketing techniques for your business. Still, before we do, I will like to state you can find more information on this topic and my San Diego internet marketing page at Local Dudes Marketing. Okay, now I’m doing plugging my business read on to learn how to drive traffic to your site and increase brand awareness.

Local Search Engine Marketing

Search engine marketing can be done on a local, national or even international level, but for this article, we will focus on local SEO. Before doing any SEO work, you should do keyword research to see if there is any web traffic to warrant taking the time and costs associated to running a campaign. Without sufficient traffic, it just doesn’t make sense to move forward.

Okay, now that you have done your keyword research, you can move forward by creating content that focuses around the city or cites you want to rank. For example, my site content is built around the City of San Diego. The search engines use content to understand the topic of your site.  Creating city-themed content achieved not only with the written text on your website, but the URL of the web page, title, headers, and images ALT tags if feasible.

Gaining Backlinks

Once you have done all these onsite changes, you will need to focus on gaining backlinks to help further boost your rankings. Some excellent links start with are called local citation sites. Just Google the term “top citation sites”, and you will have plenty of lists to go through. Sign up on these sites and fill out your business information. Just make sure you keep you use the same spelling of your company name, phone, and address for all your listings.

Local Pay-Per-Click

For those of you who don’t know pay-per-click, also known as PPC, is a bid based marketing system. The major search engine and social media sites all offer their versions of PPC marketing. What’s great about PPC is its reasonably easy to set up an account, find keywords that drive traffic. Just do your research to find the right platform for your type of business. You can use pay-per-click on a national or local level. With local marketing, you are going to want to set up the account to GEO target the city you want to market too.

Targeted Email Marketing

You will need a list built from your current clients or from people that have opted-in to receive emails from you. I don’t recommend using bought lists, but if you want to risk it, that’s on you. You will need to take your list and break it down to companies from the city you wish to target. Just create a promotion based around that city. Email marketing is at its best when being used to develop brand retention, getting yourself seen in front and past and current clients are the way to go.

Now take these marketing techniques and get moving forward to a better 2020. If you have any questions or would like to learn more on the subject, visit my site at localdudesmarketing.com.
